Event 01:
The Expert Committee on Suicide Prevention of Sri Lanka Medical Association presented the first copy of the policy document titled “Suicide Prevention in Sri Lanka: Recommendations for Action” to His Excellency the President Gotabaya Rajapaksha by the Chairperson of the Committee Prof. Samudra Kathriarachchi at the Presidential Secretariat on 28th August 2020.
Event 02:
The members of Expert Committee on Suicide Prevention of Sri Lanka Medical Association met the Acting Director General of Health Services Dr. S. Sridharan, Additional Secretary Medical Services, Dr. Sunil de Alwis and Additional Secretary Public Health Services Dr. Lakshmi Somathunga to discuss the strategic actions to be taken in this regard and also to hand over the publication. Professor Indika Karunathilake, Dr. Anula Wijesundere, Professor Thilini Rajapakse and Dr. Ruwan Ferdinando participated in these discussions at the Ministry of Health on 9th of September 2020.
