{"id":500,"date":"2021-05-11T18:03:34","date_gmt":"2021-05-11T18:03:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/slma.lk\/Registration\/?page_id=500"},"modified":"2026-04-08T11:00:30","modified_gmt":"2026-04-08T05:15:30","slug":"membership-registration","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/slma.lk\/Registration\/membership-registration\/","title":{"rendered":"Membership Registration"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>[vc_row gap=&#8221;15&#8243;][vc_column width=&#8221;1\/2&#8243;][vc_single_image image=&#8221;2332&#8243; img_size=&#8221;full&#8221;][vc_custom_heading text=&#8221;Eligibility criteria for Membership of the Sri Lanka Medical Association&#8221; font_container=&#8221;tag:h5|text_align:center&#8221;][vc_column_text css=&#8221;.vc_custom_1775625286588{padding-top: 20px !important;padding-right: 20px !important;padding-left: 20px !important;}&#8221;]<\/p>\n<div class=\"et_pb_module et_pb_text et_pb_text_0 et_pb_text_align_left et_pb_bg_layout_light\">\n<div class=\"et_pb_text_inner\">\n<h6><\/h6>\n<h6><strong>ORDINARY MEMBERS<\/strong><\/h6>\n<ul>\n<li>Any medical practitioner who has full registration with the SLMC under Section 29 shall be eligible for election as an Ordinary Member of the Association.<\/li>\n<li>Every person admitted as an Ordinary Member of the Association shall pay his or her annual subscription fixed by the Association as long as he or she shall remain a member.<\/li>\n<li>Each year\u2019s subscription shall entitle the member to all privileges of membership of the Association including those of receiving the journals of the Association at a subsidized rate.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h6><strong>ORDINARY LIFE MEMBERS<\/strong><\/h6>\n<p>Any person eligible for Ordinary Membership of the Association shall be eligible for election as an Ordinary Life Member on the payment of a lump sum as may be determined by the Association from time to time.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div class=\"et_pb_text_inner\">\n<h6><strong>OVERSEAS LIFE MEMBERS<\/strong><\/h6>\n<p>Any medical practitioner who qualifies for membership and who is resident abroad shall be elected an overseas Life member on payment of a sum as may be deemed by the Association from time to time.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h6><strong>STUDENT MEMBERS<\/strong><\/h6>\n<p>Any person undergoing a course of training towards a degree in Medicine and Surgery recognized by the Sri Lanka Medical Council shall be eligible to be a student member of the Association. A Student Member will be required to reapply for membership as an Ordinary Member\/ Ordinary Life Member when he or she is eligible to do so after receiving full registration with the SLMC under Section 29. All Pre-Interns also fall into the student category.<\/p>\n<h6><strong>PERMANENT STUDENT MEMBERS<\/strong><\/h6>\n<p>The student shall obtain permanent student membership which will be valid until the full SLMC registration.
